- You’re under 50 and your GP has identified high blood pressure
- You’re over 50, diagnosed with hypertension, and have new symptoms
- You’re over 50 with diagnosed high blood pressure and your current treatment isn’t working

BOOKING & INITIAL CONSULTATION
To book this fixed-price package, please complete the form at the bottom of this page. Our Enquiries Team will then call you to arrange the date and time of your ECG and initial consultation.
An ECG is carried out immediately before your appointment to allow your consultant to properly understand your heart health and confirm whether the hypertension pathway is right for you. Your initial appointment then gives you the chance to talk through your symptoms and any other concerns you may have.
When booking, our Enquiries Team will let you know what time to arrive for your ECG and the time of your consultation. There may be a short wait in between to ensure the results have reached your cardiologist before your appointment.
Full payment is required at the time of booking.
TESTS & SCANS
If your consultant cardiologist confirms this pathway is suitable for you, you’ll come back for one appointment to have the remaining tests and scans in this package carried out together, by our specialist clinical team.
Where possible and if it suits you, some of these tests can be carried out immediately after your initial consultation.

RESULTS CONSULTATION
Once your results are in, you will attend an appointment with your consultant cardiologist to go through the findings and discuss any next steps. Face-to-face appointments are recommended, though online consultations are available on request.
Tests and Scans
ECG (Electrocardiogram)
What it is: A recording of the electrical activity of your heart, taken using small sticky pads (electrodes) placed on your chest, arms and legs.
What it’s for: To check your heart’s rhythm and electrical activity for anything that could be contributing to your breathlessness.
How long it takes: About 10 minutes
Blood tests
What it is: A standard blood sample taken from your arm, tested for a range of markers including full blood count, kidney function, cholesterol, blood sugar (HbA1c), and thyroid function.
What it’s for: A wider check of your overall health and of factors that can affect or be affected by high blood pressure.
How long it takes: A few minutes to take the sample. Results are usually ready within a few days.
ECHO (Echocardiogram)
What it is: An ultrasound scan of your heart.
What it’s for: To check how well your heart is pumping and to look closely at its structures.
How long it takes: Around 30 to 45 minutes.
24-hour ambulatory blood pressure monitor
What it is: A blood pressure cuff worn on your arm, connected to a small monitor, for a full 24-hour period.
What it’s for: To get an accurate picture of your blood pressure throughout the day, rather than relying on a single reading taken in a clinical setting. For patients already on treatment, this also helps show how well current medication is working.
How long it takes: Worn for 24 hours, then returned to the hospital as instructed.

About fixed pricing
Eligibility for Fixed Price Packages is determined at your initial consultation, which confirms the pathway is clinically suitable for your individual circumstances.
In some cases, findings during your tests or scans may indicate a need for further investigation or treatment outside this package. If this happens, your care may move outside the fixed price package and additional costs may apply. Where possible, this will be discussed with you in advance.

Monthly payments need to be linked to a One Stop Healthcare treatment over £385 and is subject to a 14-day ‘cooling-off’ period before any treatment can start.
