From Court to Clinic

Hemel Storm and One Stop Healthcare Unite for Prostate Cancer Awareness

Prostate cancer is the most common cancer among men in the UK, with around 55,000 new cases diagnosed every year, that’s roughly 150 men every single day. While survival rates have improved dramatically, with nearly 79% of men living 10 years or more after diagnosis, early detection remains the key to successful treatment and better outcomes. Yet, many men delay getting checked, often because symptoms can be subtle or absent in the early stages.

Did You Know?

1 in 8 men in the UK will be diagnosed with prostate cancer

This risk doubles for black men

Family history significantly increases risk:
2 ½ x if your father or brother was diagnosed
~20% greater risk if your mother or sister had breast or ovarian cancer

Because health is a team effort, we’ve partnered with Hemel Storm, our local semi-professional basketball team, to spread the word. Together, we’re encouraging men to take charge of their health and take their shot, whether that means booking a check-up or simply starting the conversation. After all, looking after your health is the ultimate power play.

That’s why, as part of Men’s Health Month, we’re shining a spotlight on our Rapid Access Prostate Clinic. This service is designed to cut through the waiting times and uncertainty, offering fast access and clear treatment plans, all in one stop. The goal? To give men peace of mind and, where needed, a head start on treatment.

You can get an appointment within as little as 24 hours with one of our GPs to discuss your concerns, family history, carry out an examination and diagnostic tests including blood and urine testing. If further investigation is required, you may be referred for an MRI or other testing*, typically carried out the same or next day as your initial consultation, and your care will then be handled by one of our expert consultant urologists.

Contact our enquiries team to book today.

*Charges apply for additional tests and scans. Our clinicians will explain the need, and advise on any associated costs, so you stay in-charge of your care and remain fully informed.
